Pole Level 2 - 3

This class is taught by:

Devon N

Devon began dancing at the age of 3, exploring various styles of dance through her entire life. Ten years ago, she discovered her love of pole dancing. she has been competing throughout this time in many competitions landing her titles along the way. She specializes in higher level tricks and combos as well as drop, tumbles and flips and heels choreography. Through pole, she discovered aerial circus and fell in love with lyra as well as rope, straps, hand balancing and more. Pole dancing and aerial circus gave her not only a stronger body but opened up her mind and built more confidence throughout. Devon hopes to encourage people of any gender, body build and age to try pole as a way of personal fitness, self expression and confidence boost.

Jackie Sherman

Jackie took her first pole class in January of 2017 and fell in love. While her dance background dates back to toddlerhood, no other style connected with her at the same level or felt more viscerally rewarding than pole. She was hooked. Almost immediately, she threw herself into classes, taking as many as possible and cross-training with yoga and weightlifting. Jackie took a huge leap in 2018 and participated in her first ever competition (PSO Northeast) and placed second in her division. In 2019, Jackie was invited to join the Elite Teacher Training Program, an extensive teaching and assisting program offered here at Elite. Her goal is to share the strength, empowerment, and joy she has found through pole with all of her students and peers.
This class is where we really start to work on your inverts! We will work on leg hangs, shoulder mount prep, Superman, and overhead pushing strength for things like handstands and butterfly. Tricks will require more advanced grip, and will involve increased challenges to your coordination and strength. We will also start to build basic combos, and strength training will focus on preparing you for aerial inverts.

When is it time to level up?
When you can easily enter all leg hangs (from a chopper) and have your butterfly on both sides. You should have a basic shoulder mount from the floor and be ready to start aerial choppers. If you meet all these requirements EXCEPT your shoulder mount, you may also attend our Level 2.5 and up classes!
