Mackenzie A

Mackenzie began dancing at 3 years old and hasn't stopped since. Attending a performing arts high school as a dance major only strengthened her love of dance and she decided to further her education at Georgian Court University. Mackenzie graduated Summa Cum Laude, earning her a BA in dance with honors in choreography and overall performance. Professionally, Mackenzie teaches dance, group fitness classes, and is a NASM certified personal trainer. She also performs in a Philadelphia based modern dance company, which travels to major cities along the east coast, and internationally. In December of 2017 Mackenzie discovered her love of Pole! It only took one class at Elite for her to realize this was a place that she could build confidence and strength, and where she could express herself through a new, yet also familiar movement vocabulary.
Invited to join the Elite Teacher Training program, Mackenzie jumped at the opportunity to share her love of movement through pole. She hopes to inspire others to find their passion for movement and can't wait to share her knowledge and unique movement style with everyone.

Mackenzie A instructs the following:
  • Pole Level 2.5 - 4
  • This is our most advanced class! We will work on building more complicated combos on both static and spin, and continue to challenge your strength, endurance, and flexibility. This is where we will start working on our most advanced tricks like Ayeshas, handsprings, dangerous bird, and more. This is where we start making the hard stuff look easy!

  • Pole Level 1 (must have completed Intro level)
  • This level works to build the coordination and technique for more complicated skills. We will work on more advanced sits and climbs (forearm climb, side climb), knee holds like jasmine and martini, and get comfortable with more complicated and demanding spin tricks. We will work on building strength for our choppers and getting comfortable in basic inversions.

When is it time to level up?
When you have a strong forearm climb on both static and spin. You have a strong chair spin, and you can invert into and hold a bat comfortably. Your tucks should be strong, and you should be close to or able to do a chopper.

  • Flexibility (All Levels)
  • Our flexibility classes focus on both active and passive flexibility. Open to all levels!

  • Mixed Level Pole
  • Since fewer people are available during the daytime, our weekday morning classes are open to ALL Levels. The instructor will modify the class to each student's level (which means some students may be working on completely different things). This style of class can be slightly faster paced and less organized. If you are new to pole we require that you take at least 3 Intro to Pole class before attending any Mixed Level classes.

  • Pole FLOW: Intermediate Level
  • Once you feel comfortable in Beginner Pole Flow, you are welcome to move up to Intermediate! This next level up will be faster-paced and more technical, with slightly more advanced tricks and a longer piece of choreography to learn within the class time. Knee pads and socks are required, heels strongly recommended.

  • Ayesha & Handspring Clinic
  • Pre-req: Extended Butterfly (or close to).

  • Flying & Standard Pole Hybrid Class
  • Flying Pole is a pole that is hung aerially from the ceiling (does not attach to the floor).

This is a regular and flying pole HYBRID class! This is a new class type that we are testing out. Open to level 2 & up.

  • Pole Level 1.5 - 2
  • This class is for students who have a good amount of Pole Level 1 experience and Pole Level 2 students.

Pre-reqs: Forearm climb, Chopper (or getting close), Bat (or basic invert)

  • Mixed Level Pole
  • Since fewer people are available during the daytime, our weekday morning classes are open to ALL Levels. The instructor will modify the class to each student's level (which means some students may be working on completely different things). This style of class can be slightly faster paced and less organized. If you are new to pole we require that you take at least 3 Intro to Pole class before attending any Mixed Level classes.
